As the smallest habitat on the Costa Blanca, the steppe areas north west of Alicante, on the edge of the great Iberian plains, are home to an interesting group of species. They can be observed in the cereal crop fields and the steppe areas. For example, the spectacular great bustard (Otis tarda), the lesser kestrel (Falco naumanni), the imitative little bustard (Tetrax tetrax) and the attractive Eurasian stone curlew (Burhinus oedicnemus), as well as many others.
