Sagra is found in the Rectoría area, a village that clings to the sides of the Caval and Migdía Sierras, opposite the Girona River. In 1609 the Moors rose up against the Royal Decree that expelled them from their lands and this area of the Sierra Caval became one of the last bastions of resistance, especially the villages of Orba and Sagra. Sagra has preserved a typical Moorish town structure with twisting narrow streets surrounded by a verdant countryside and orange groves.
