Though known for its ´cuquello´ olives and refined pure oil olive, Onil is famous for being the leading national centre for the manufacturing of dolls and the sector´s largest company is a based here. Onil is essentially an industrial village, a fundamental pillar of the region known as the ´Valley of the Toys´. The village itself is noted for its civil architecture such as the gothic renaissance Ayuntamiento, originally the palace of the Marqués de Dos Aguas. The former ducal chapel is the present-day parish church and is dominated by a 15th-century altarpiece and, in the Chapel of Nostre Senyor Robat, a fresco by Eusebio Sempere, who came from Onil. There is also a convent, the House of Cardinal Payá, and the future Museum of Dolls.

Festivals and Events:
Moors and Christians pageants are held in honour of the Virgin of Salvation from the 22nd of April to the 1st of May. The Nostre Senyor Robat festival is held from the 28-30 of November. The ´Festa dels fatxos´, is held on Christmas Eve; this festival involves the els Colivencs parading in the streets with burning esparto torches.

The best way to reach this locality is on the A-3315 from Alcoy to Villena. 39 km from Alicante and 81 km from Benidorm.
