We start today from Los Baños de la Reina de Calp. We will make a quick visit to the Thermal Complex of La Muntanyeta, right on the small beach that is just before the La Puntera spur, passing the jetty until we reach the long beach of Arenal-Bol, more than a kilometre of golden sand and clear waters.
Just past the southern jetty we find a curious construction, the remains of an old Social Club. Next, we find the Manzanera cove, which we will easily recognise by the emblematic buildings that overlook a small cliff, works of the architect Ricardo Bofill.
We will continue our journey with our eyes set on our next challenge: Morro de Toix. The route along this stretch, in good conditions, will allow us to get closer to the white cliffs, which will lead us to Puerto Blanco.
Once we have passed the port we will find Les Urques cove and, after 700 metres of paddling, we will pass by Cala Gasparet, a cove 80 metres long and 7 metres wide, an ideal spot to take a break and have a good swim. It is composed of pebble and boulder.
After this rest, we will resume our trip to follow the coast round Morro de Toix and reach its southern face. There we find ourselves beneath some impressive cliffs, which are completely vertical and rise to over 200 metres above sea level.
El Morro de Toix represents the end of Sierra de Bèrnia, in the sea. Here we find ancient fisheries, equal or more impressive than the views during the Granadella-Teulada / Moraira stage. Some of them start from the most vertical part of the mountain, taking advantage of natural windows that take our breath away.
After the high cliffs we arrive at El Collao or Racó del Corb cove, especially recommended for diving. We leave it behind and enter the nature area of Altea. We will pass the small Punta del Mascarat to reach the beach of the same name.
Altea has more than 6 kilometres of beaches. They are not usually overcrowded since most of them are pebble beaches. Peace and relaxation are usually the great strengths of this picturesque town on the Costa Blanca.
After Mascarat beach, we leave the Campomanes Sailing Club on our right. We continue and note the significant size of the cliffs until we reach the beach of La Solsida that opens the way to Puerto Mar i Muntanya.
Then l'Illeta de l'Olla (on the left) and its beach (on the right) welcome us. In the summer, in this area, on the second Saturday of August, there is an impressive show with music and fireworks, El Castell de l'Olla. A beautiful burst of light, gunpowder and music.
The long beach will take us to Cap Negret, a small cape with black rocks from a volcanic outcrop and with some unique constructions resembling machine gun nests on the beach.
We continue crossing the long beaches of the entire Alteana bay, passing across the mouth of the Algar River, until we reach the Sailing Club. It is interesting to make two brief stops, one to see the remains of the old watchtowers, and another to see the curious and small beach that protects the jetty.
In just 2 kilometres we go along the beach of Cap Blanc until we reach our final point proposed for today, the beach of L'Albir, in L'Alfàs del Pi.
